Nanjing Steel Group is one of the largest steel enterprises in Jiangsu Province, with a production capacity of three million tons of steel and four million tons of rolled steel products. Its business covers steel production and trading, design, transport, real estate, culture, tourism and international trade.

The audio equipment in the group conference center had grown old and was affecting daily technical seminars and operation meetings, so the client decided to upgrade. After careful comparison, Relacart UR-111D and UR-111S true diversity wireless microphone systems were selected for the new audio setup.
Three problems had to be solved. First, severe interference: the plant operates a large amount of electrical equipment that generates complex electromagnetic signals, which caused frequent drop-outs, noise and interrupted meetings with conventional wireless microphones. Second, complex ambient noise from machinery and air-conditioning that ordinary systems could not suppress, making speakers hard to understand. Third, poor voice reproduction: dry, thin sound that led to misunderstandings in technical discussions.
A site survey showed two meeting rooms on the second floor, two on the third floor and one lecture hall. Relacart engineers equipped the four meeting rooms with fourteen UR-111S single-channel true diversity wireless systems and the lecture hall with two UR-111D dual-channel systems, pairing them with handheld and headworn microphones to suit different meeting formats.

For signal transmission, both the meeting rooms and the lecture hall use R-22AU directional antennas with R-20A antenna boosters, while R-14D antenna distribution systems distribute the antenna signals to the multiple wireless systems. The resulting antenna setup keeps the wireless links stable throughout the building.

The UR-111D combines both 6.3 mm unbalanced and XLR balanced outputs for easy connection to any audio processor, and a double squelch design - noise locking plus level locking - that prevents RF interference from other microphones while improving the signal-to-noise ratio. The [AFS] function scans and locks onto an interference-free channel within three seconds, and the [IR] infrared sync lets a transmitter match the receiver frequency at the touch of a [SYNC] button. The wide UHF carrier band of 521.25-936.85 MHz with CPU-controlled intelligent selection keeps reception stable over long distances.

Since commissioning, the wireless audio system has run reliably in daily use, greatly improving meeting stability and communication efficiency across the group - an evaluation the client expressed with high praise.
