When a leading heat and power company moved into its new headquarters, its main conference hall had to reach an A+ standard from day one: the interior fit-out was already complete, cable routes were limited, and the room had to support daily, multi-hour video conferences with branches and partners. The completed complex answers all three constraints, with the Relacart CS-101 wired conference discussion system carrying the meeting audio.
Designing around a finished interior
With decoration complete, no system could touch the finished surfaces. Displays were carried on floor-supported structures instead of recessed wall fittings, signal sources were moved into an adjacent equipment room with long-distance signal extension, and the whole complex - display wall, cameras, sound reinforcement and discussion system - had to run under a single automated control interface.
Meeting audio: the Relacart CS-101 system
Every seat at the table is equipped with a personal unit from the Relacart CS-101 wired conference discussion system: a CS-101M central controller, a CS-101C chairman unit and CS-101D delegate units. The gooseneck microphones pick up each speaker in a strongly directed pattern, so speech stays clear and present even in a long room. The discussion system also serves as the trigger source for the hall’s automatic camera tracking: whenever a delegate speaks, the cameras frame the active participant.
The CS-101M central controller covers a 65 Hz - 15 kHz frequency range, accepts AC 100-240 V mains power and installs on a tabletop or in a 19-inch rack, which made it a clean fit for the equipment room. Speech from the discussion system is processed by a professional DSP platform and reinforced through ceiling-integrated loudspeakers tuned to the acoustics of the hall.
One hall, every meeting automated
The finished hall combines the CS-101 discussion system with a large-format display wall, duplicate displays, PTZ cameras with automatic speaker tracking and centralized tablet control. Staff start meetings with a single touch, and the room runs daily multi-hour video conferences and top-level negotiations without a dedicated operator. For Relacart, the project shows once more how a wired discussion system can anchor a premium conference room - even one with the strictest installation constraints.
